I put on my snowshoes late this afternoon and walked around the house. Even though we have deep snow covering the ground, Penny still managed to find several sticks that she just knew I wanted to throw for her.
The next photo shows a hole that had two sets of squirrel tracks. One leading to it, and the other leading away.
Now I wish I had prepositioned my snowblower last night. Instead, it’s pinned in the garage by my car, and the only way to get it out is to back the car out. Before I can do that, I will have to shovel out a place to back the car to.

They say it’s supposed to waarm up starting tomorrow to more average temperatures-mid to high 30s each day. That will get the sap flowing!

I need more buckets. I have but one!

With all of the big syrup producers using tubing now, sap buckets are probably a dime a dozen. I haven’t seen any at the second hand shops that I visit though.

Nope. They’re still $15 a pop. Agway carries them, and I’ve also seen them in other places.

Penny is one happy dog! She knows that the whole snow storm was just for her. (And don’t tell her otherwise!)

I don’t know how she can manage to find a stick under a foot and a half of snow. But it’s something she excels at!
