Over the past few days I’ve seen a lot more mushrooms than flowers, frogs, or bugs. I have not attempted to identify any of these, but I’m not going to let that stop me from posting them.

That’s a wonderful series of shrooms! It’s interesting to me that you have so many this time of year. We have been so hot and dry that I see shrooms only in deep canyons where it is still mist and cool.

All of these were growing within 100 yards of my house. My yard is covered with a lot of yellow ones too, but they decay quickly into a slimy mess. I should have posted a few for completeness.

Mushrooms give me the feel of being in a different world. You forget about them. Then you find a usually secluded location with a group of them and once again become mesmerized by them. Interesting that you chose to display them in a slide show. Perhaps you too are mesmerized by their uniqueness.

The slideshow was chosen primarily for technical rather than artistic reasons. It’s a lot easier to upload eleven shots all at once into a slideshow. However, the artistic reasons are there too. It seems more like a parade if you can sit back and watch them go by.

I’m sure it’s the same species, but it’s a different individual specimen.
