Tonight was the first night of Honors Week. Nancy Nichols came in and taught 13 people the Bones, Muscles, and Movement honor. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I ordered only 10 patches ahead of time, so some of the grown-ups will have to wait before receiving theirs.
Right now I’m sitting in Beth’s room waiting for her to go to sleep (that’s usually what I’m doing when I post here). As soon as she’s out, I need to get downstairs and sew up a couple more semaphore flags for Wednesday’s Communications Honor. My fantasy is that semaphores will be easier to learn than Morse Code. The honors allows either, and I have tried to memorize Morse Code several times without much success. Semaphores are somewhat more regular, but there are some irregularities. I guess that’s just to keep the signal corps on their toes?
I handed out several registration packets too (seven, I think). It looks like we may have four new kids join us this year, so we’ll grow a little bit! I still have several more registration packets to hand out (including two for my sons).
