I managed to roll out of bed early enough to leave the house at around 7:00. I usually get to work at 8:00 or a little after, but today I got in a 7:30. I did a lot of fascinating stuff when I got to work, but I’m pretty sure anyone who reads this would quickly lose consciousness due to an overwhelming sense of boredom if I went into any details. So I will spare you. You’re welcome.

Before I went to work, I checked my dirt pile. I had left a few unpopped kernels of popcorn on it last night, and this morning found some coon tracks. They were pretty faint, but I’m nearly certain they were made by a raccoon. I took a few pictures of them when I got home.

I went for a lunchtime walk today and noted several flowers that have been in bloom for at least a week (some for months). I have not logged them yet, but I did take pictures so I could remember them. And while I was out, I took a couple dozen shots of pigeon tracks. And yes, one of them turned out well enough for the Animal Tracking honor answers. Yay!

When I got home, I found a Asclepias incarnata (Swamp Milkweed) growing by the mail box, and it was in full bloom. That’s different from Asclepias syriaca (Common Milkweed) , which is all over the place (and blooming). Cool.

I also saw a wood frog and some white slime mold on a different stump. I saw the slime mold first, and then saw the frog.

The slime mold photo didn’t turn out so hot, so I’ll not post it.
